UPDATE REGARDING GLACIER NATIONAL PARK’S TICKETED ENTRY POLICY- Summer 2025

This summer Glacier National Park will be instituting updates to their ticketed entry system and we at Glacier Getaways wanted to make sure to provide you with the most up-to-date information for our guests in planning your trip to Whitefish  & the Flathead Valley this summer. In addition to your National Park Pass (which can be purchased at any of the park entrances), you also need an advanced vehicle registration ticket.

If you are planning to be traveling from West Glacier on the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor between Glacier National Park’s West from June 13 through September 28, 2025, you will need to create a reservation in addition to a Park Pass for 7 am-3 pm. Many Glacier entrance is closed for Summer 2025.  The North Fork area requires a reservation from June 13 through September 28, 2025, from 7 am-3 pm.  No tickets are required to enter through the St. Mary’s entrance. Entry reservation tickets can be secured at recreation.gov website. There will be two opportunities to reserve your ticket:

  • Primary Booking Window: The initial release of tickets occurs 120 days or approximately 4 months in advance, starting on February 12, 2025, at 8 am MST on a daily rolling basis. The first day requiring ticketed entry is 6/13/25. The last day requiring ticketed entry is 9/28/25.
  • Secondary Booking Window: an additional batch of tickets is released one day in advance at 7 pm MT for next-day entry starting on June 12, 2025. Example: On June 12th at 7 pm MST, tickets will be available for June 13th; on June 13th at 7 pm MST, tickets will be available for June 14th. The first day requiring ticketed entry is 6/13/25. The last day requiring ticketed entry is 9/28/25.

The ticketed entry system will help with traffic flow and congestion, creating a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Visitors entering after 3 pm do not need a reservation. Access to these areas may be temporarily limited during times of peak visitation. Visitors with reservations for in-park lodging, camping, wilderness camping, boat rides, guided hikes, horseback rides, bus tours, or park shuttles along the Going-to-the-Sun Road do not need to reserve an online entry reservation ticket for the day of your reservation. An entry reservation ticket for the day is included in your service reservation. The included entry reservation applies only to the dates of your service reservation. Proof of a service reservation (e.g., lodging, tours, etc.) is required and will serve as your entry reservation ticket. For more information, visit the National Park Service website.
